The Institute contributes to health rights by advocating for equitable access to healthcare services, particularly for marginalized communities, through community based education programs that raise awareness and reproductive health and prevent care, partnering with local health providers to deliver mobile clinics in underserved areas, supporting policy reforms to ensure affordable and inclusive medical treatments, and building capacity among healthcare workers to address systemic inequalities and improve patients outcome.
The Institute advances the right to health by providing advocacy, information and support to individuals and communities facing barriers to vaccines, medicines and other essential health products; operating community health-rights desks and outreach programmes that offer counselling and assistance in navigating public health systems; training community health advocates and paralegals on health rights; and pursuing strategic interventions and policy advocacy to remove systemic obstacles, ensuring equitable, affordable and timely access to life-saving vaccines, medicines and other health products for the poor and marginalized.
The Institute advances environmental justice by mobilizing communities to combat climate change and resource exploitation, through initiatives that promote sustainable land use, adaptation measures and protect indigenous rights to natural resource, conducting awareness campaigns on the impact of pollution, deforestation and extractive industry on vulnerable populations, collaborating with local governments to enforce environmental regulations and restore degraded ecosystem.
The Institute engages in legal research by conducting in depth studies on emerging legal issues affecting human rights, legal tech and social justice, through analyzing case law and policy frameworks to identify gaps in protections for at risk groups, producing reports and publications that inform lawmakers and civil society, collaborating with academic institutions to explore intersection of law with socio-economic factors, and contributing to global dialogues on reforming legal systems for greater equity and accountability.
The Institute provides free legal aid by offering comprehensive legal services to individuals and communities facing injustices, with a particular focus on human rights violations and discrimination; representing clients in courts; operating legal clinics that provide counselling and support for navigating complex legal processes; training paralegals and community leaders to extend access to justice in remote and underserved areas; and pursuing strategic and public interest litigation while advocating for systemic changes to make legal systems more accessible and responsive to the needs of the poor and marginalized.
The Institute promotes and provides alternative dispute resolution by offering free, accessible and efficient mediation services to individuals and communities in civil disputes; operating community-based mediation centers that provide guidance and support for peaceful resolution; training community mediators and local leaders to extend ADR mechanisms in remote and underserved areas; and advocating for systemic recognition and integration of ADR as a national strategy to reduce court backlogs, enhance access to justice and foster social harmony.
The Institute contributes to GBV prevention and response by implementing comprehensive programs that address root causes and support recovery, through educating communities on gender equality and consent to prevent violence before it occurs, providing safe shelters, reintegration into families, counseling services for survivors to aid in their healing and empowerment, partnering with law enforcement and health services to improve response mechanisms and victim support.
